Web design for bars & restaurants
We build websites for UK bars, restaurants, pubs and cafés that take bookings online, show menus beautifully on phones and keep every service full — without paying commission on your own tables.
Why hospitality websites are different
A restaurant website is part menu, part booking desk, part shop window. Guests judge your food from your photos, your value from your prices and your warmth from your reviews — all in about thirty seconds on a phone, usually within walking distance of your door.
Empty tables are revenue you never get back
A no-show Saturday service can't be resold. A website with one-tap online booking and instant confirmation fills seats while your team is mid-service — and automated reminders cut no-shows.
Diners decide from your menu in seconds
Most guests read the menu on their phone before they ever walk in. Slow PDF menus, missing prices and no dietary labels send them to the place next door. We put fast, labelled, beautiful menus front and centre.
Dining searches are hyper-local
‘Restaurants Harrogate’, ‘cocktail bar near me’, ‘Sunday lunch Knaresborough’ — we build the location pages, Restaurant schema and Google Business Profile alignment that outrank the directories.
The phone never stops during service
Answering booking calls, repeating opening hours and reading the menu down the phone steals time from the floor. Online booking, clear menus and an FAQ hand those hours back to your team.
What we build for bars & restaurants
Every hospitality site starts with booking, menus and trust signals, then gets tuned to your mix — fine dining, cocktail bar, gastropub, café or multi-venue group.
Commission-free online booking
Table reservations built into your own site — date, time, party size and special requests, with closed days and service times enforced automatically. No per-cover fees to third-party platforms.
Menus that work on phones
Tabbed, searchable menus with prices and ve / vg / gf dietary labels on every dish — readable at a glance and editable in-house when the specials board changes.
Private dining & events pages
Dedicated pages for private hire, set menus, Christmas parties and ticketed events — turning seasonal moments into bookable enquiries instead of phone calls.
Reviews & social proof
Google and TripAdvisor ratings surfaced on the site, with photo galleries that show the room, the plates and the atmosphere guests are booking for.
Multi-venue local SEO
A location page or site per venue, Restaurant schema, opening-hours data and town targeting across every area your guests travel from.
Order, takeaway & gift vouchers
Click-and-collect ordering, gift voucher sales and mailing-list sign-up — extra revenue streams that run from the same site without extra admin.
Built for the way venues win bookings
Word of mouth now starts with a Google search and ends with a reserved table. Our process is built around making that journey effortless for hungry guests.
01
Discovery with the owners
We learn your venues, menus, covers, booking flow and the services you most want to fill — lunch, dinner, private hire or events.
02
Booking & menu structure
We organise menus, dietary labels and the booking journey so a diner can go from search to reserved table in under a minute.
03
Local SEO build
Location pages, Restaurant schema, review integration and Google Business Profile alignment across every town you serve.
04
Launch with booking tracking
Analytics show which pages, menus and areas drive reservations, so your marketing budget goes where the covers come from.
Case study
Konak Meze — two restaurants that take their own bookings
Konak Meze serves authentic Turkish and Mediterranean food from restaurants in Harrogate and Horsforth. We designed and built konakmeze.co.uk around that reality: one brand site, a dedicated location site for each restaurant, commission-free online table booking and full menus with dietary labels. Here is the process, and what it produced.
- Client
- Konak Meze, Harrogate & Horsforth
- Sector
- Turkish & Mediterranean restaurant
- Sites
- Main site + 2 location sites
- Scope
- Design, build, booking system, SEO
The process, step by step
Five phases took a two-site Turkish restaurant group from phone-only reservations to a website that books tables around the clock.
PHASE 01
Discovery with the owners
We mapped how Konak Meze actually fills tables: two restaurants in Harrogate and Horsforth, lunch specials, private dining, and a phone that never stops during service.
- Two venues, menus and audiences compared
- Booking and private-hire journeys defined
- Every repeated phone question logged
PHASE 02
A booking system that owns the reservation
Instead of paying per-cover commission to a booking platform, we built table booking into the site itself — date, time, party size and special requests, with closed days and opening hours enforced automatically.
- Commission-free online reservations
- Closed days and service times handled
- Email confirmation within 24 hours
PHASE 03
Menus built to be read on a phone
Full tabbed menus for each restaurant — categories, prices and ve / vg / gf dietary labels throughout — so a diner deciding where to eat gets the answer in seconds, and the kitchen updates dishes without a developer.
- Tabbed categories for fast browsing
- Dietary labels on every dish
- Lunch specials promoted beside booking
PHASE 04
One brand, two location sites
Each restaurant runs on its own location site — harrogate.konakmeze.co.uk and horsforth.konakmeze.co.uk — with local content, address and contact details, so both towns get a page built to rank for its own searches.
- Dedicated Harrogate and Horsforth sites
- Local guides and private dining content
- Shared brand, independent local SEO
PHASE 05
Local SEO, launch & growth
Restaurant schema, town-targeted pages and Google Business Profile alignment across Harrogate and Horsforth — built to catch 'Turkish restaurant near me' searches on both sides of Leeds.
- Restaurant & LocalBusiness schema
- Town-specific landing pages
- Reviews and socials surfaced on site
THE RESULT
One website group that books tables, shows menus and wins local searches for both restaurants.

Homepage — two restaurants, one brand
Full-screen food photography with a glass info panel, and an immediate choice between the Harrogate and Horsforth restaurants — each with its own address, menu and 'Book your table' button, so a diner is never more than two taps from a reservation.
Online table booking
A built-in booking system — not a third-party widget taking commission. Date, time, party size, contact details and special requests, with closed days handled automatically ('We are closed on Mondays') and confirmation by email within 24 hours.
Menu — Harrogate
The full Harrogate menu with tabbed categories — cold meze, hot meze, grills, seafoods, vegetarian, desserts and drinks — every dish priced and labelled ve / vg / gf, plus the lunch special offer with a booking button right beside it.
Menu — Horsforth
Horsforth gets its own menu page on the same structure, so each restaurant ranks for its own town and menus can differ between sites without confusing diners.
Harrogate location site
A dedicated location site at harrogate.konakmeze.co.uk — address, phone and email in the header, 'Reserve Your Table' front and centre, and local content about meze, brunch and private dining in Harrogate to win town-specific searches.
Horsforth location site
The matching Horsforth site targets Leeds-side searches, so 'Turkish restaurant Horsforth' and 'restaurant Harrogate' each land on a page built for that exact diner.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions from bars and restaurants about websites, booking systems and funding.
How much does a bar or restaurant website cost?
It depends on your venues and booking needs. A single-site restaurant with menus, gallery and an enquiry form costs less than a multi-venue group with built-in online booking, private dining pages and event ticketing. We quote a fixed price after a short discovery call, and we check whether a website grant can offset part of the cost before you commit.
Can diners book a table directly on the website?
Yes. We build booking straight into your site — date, time, party size, dietary notes and special requests, with opening hours and closed days handled automatically and confirmation by email. You own the reservation and pay no per-cover commission to third-party platforms. We can also integrate tools you already use, such as ResDiary, OpenTable or Collins.
Will my restaurant rank for 'restaurants near me' searches?
Local dining searches are won with a fast mobile site, proper Restaurant schema, a well-optimised Google Business Profile, genuine reviews and pages targeting your cuisine and town — 'Turkish restaurant Harrogate', 'cocktail bar Leeds' and so on. We build all of it, including dedicated location pages for each venue.
Can we update menus and prices ourselves?
Absolutely. Menus, prices, dietary labels and seasonal specials are editable in-house — no developer needed when a dish changes or the lunch deal rotates. PDF menus are supported too, but live web menus rank better and read better on phones.
What about allergens and dietary information?
We label dishes with clear ve / vg / gf markers and can add full allergen matrices per menu. Given Natasha's Law and growing diner expectations, visible dietary information builds trust and reduces the questions your front-of-house team answers every service.
Do you work with hospitality businesses outside Yorkshire?
Yes. We are based in Knaresborough and have worked with North Yorkshire businesses since 2002, but we build bar and restaurant websites for clients across the UK. Everything is handled remotely by phone, email and video call.
