Speciality sector

Web design for drama & dance academies

We build websites for UK drama schools, dance studios and performing arts academies that fill classes, take enrolments online and sell out the end-of-term show.

Why academy websites are different

An academy website is part timetable, part prospectus, part box office. Parents judge your teaching from your tutors, your professionalism from your timetable, and your warmth from your photos — all in about thirty seconds on a phone.

Empty places are lost terms of revenue

An unfilled space in a Saturday ballet class costs a whole term's fees. A website with one-tap trial booking and a clear timetable converts an interested parent into an enrolled student before they look elsewhere.

Parents buy trust, not promises

Families choosing a drama or dance school want to see qualified tutors, safeguarding standards, exam results and genuine parent reviews. We put that reassurance front and centre instead of burying it.

Class searches are hyper-local

‘Dance classes Harrogate’, ‘drama club near me’, ‘ballet lessons Knaresborough’ — we build the class and town pages, schema and Google Business Profile alignment that outrank directories and competing schools.

Admin swallows teaching time

Chasing enrolment forms, term fees and waiting lists by phone and email eats evenings. Online enrolment, automated confirmations and payment links hand that time back to the studio.

What we build for drama & dance schools

Every academy site starts with timetables, enrolment and trust signals, then gets tuned to your mix — ballet, tap, street, musical theatre, LAMDA drama or youth theatre.

Online enrolment & trial booking

Trial-class booking forms, term enrolment and payment integration — including ClassForKids, DanceStudio-Pro or TeamUp — so parents can secure a place in minutes.

Class timetables that work on phones

Clear, filterable timetables by age group, style and venue — readable at a glance on the school-run, and simple for you to update each term.

Tutor profiles & exam credentials

RAD, ISTD, LAMDA and teaching credentials presented properly, with tutor bios and DBS/safeguarding information that reassures parents instantly.

Show & event ticket sales

Showcase and production pages with online ticketing, so the annual show sells seats itself and every event adds fresh, rankable content to the site.

Photo & video galleries

Performance galleries and rehearsal footage — managed with photo permissions in mind — that show prospective families the energy of your academy.

Local class SEO

Pages for every class type and venue, town and neighbourhood targeting, and Google Business Profile alignment across every area your students travel from.

Case study

Kitty Watson Academy — a performing arts school that fills its own classes

KWA trains young performers aged 2–18 across three South Manchester venues, runs two professional shows a year and operates its own children's talent agency. We designed and built kw-academy.co.uk around that reality: one structured timetable serving trials, term enrolments, camps, shows and castings at the same time. Here is the process, and what it produced.

The process, step by step

Five phases took a fast-growing theatre school from social-media-only enquiries to a site that books trials while the studio is teaching.

  1. PHASE 01

    Discovery with the principal

We mapped how enrolments actually happen at a growing Manchester theatre school: enquiries by DM and phone, two-week trials, multiple venues across Heald Green, Gatley and Didsbury, and a timetable that shifts every term.

    • Class mix, ages and venues mapped
    • Trial-to-enrolment journey defined
    • Every repeated parent question logged
  2. PHASE 02

    Timetable & booking structure

The whole weekly schedule was modelled as structured data — day, class, time, venue and age range — so one source powers the timetable, the class pages and the booking links into ClassForKids.

    • Day-by-day filterable timetable
    • Trial booking on every class
    • Editable in-house each term
  3. PHASE 03

    Brand, photography & performance

A dark, stage-lit identity with real performance photography, built to stay fast on mobile so a parent on 4G never waits — and shot with sensible photo permissions for children in mind.

    • Theatrical dark-purple brand system
    • Real show and rehearsal imagery
    • Fast, mobile-first performance
  4. PHASE 04

    Shows, camps, shop & agency

Holiday camps, Christmas parties, the merchandise shop and the Kitty & Co talent agency each got their own space, turning seasonal moments into bookable pages instead of social-media-only posts.

    • Holiday camp and event pages
    • Online shop for academy merchandise
    • Agency section for professional castings
  5. PHASE 05

    Local SEO, launch & growth

Manchester class searches were targeted page by page, Google reviews were surfaced on the site, and we've kept refining content and conversion since launch.

    • 'Dance/acting classes Manchester' pages
    • Google reviews shown on site
    • Ongoing content and conversion work

Homepage

A bold, theatrical dark-purple identity with the school's story, a standing 'book a two week trial' bar and two clear routes — Book a Trial and Our Classes — so a parent can act on the first screen.

Weekly timetable

Every class in one scannable, day-by-day table — class, time, venue and age range — readable on a phone at the school gates and simple for the academy to update each term.

Classes

Musical theatre, dance, acting, LAMDA exam classes and 1-2-1 singing each explained in their own right, with trial booking attached to every one instead of a single generic contact form.

Local class landing pages

Dedicated 'dance classes Manchester' and 'acting classes Manchester' pages built to win the exact searches parents type, rather than hoping the homepage ranks for everything.

Teachers & credentials

Tutor biographies, drama-school training and professional credits presented properly — the reassurance families read before trusting a school with their child.

Talent agency

The Kitty & Co agency sits inside the same site, so professional casting credits reinforce the school and the school feeds the agency.

Funding for academy websites

Small-business digital grants and community enterprise schemes can fund part of a new academy website, online enrolment system and local SEO build. We check your eligibility before you commit a penny.

  • Eligibility checked for you — no cost, no obligation
  • Grant offset directly against your build invoice
  • Paperwork handled alongside the project

Frequently asked questions

Common questions from drama and dance academies about websites, enrolment systems and funding.

How much does a drama or dance academy website cost?

It depends on the size of your timetable and enrolment needs. A compact site with class schedules, tutor profiles and an enquiry form costs less than a full build with online enrolment, term payments, parent portals and ticket sales. We quote a fixed price after a short discovery call, and we check whether a website grant can offset part of the cost before you commit.

Can parents enrol and pay for classes online?

Yes. We build trial-class booking forms, term enrolment flows and online payments for fees, uniforms and workshops. We can integrate the class-management tools academies already use — such as ClassForKids, DanceStudio-Pro or TeamUp — or create a simpler built-in enrolment system.

Will my academy rank for 'dance classes near me' searches?

Local class searches are won with a fast mobile site, dedicated pages for each class type and location, a well-optimised Google Business Profile and genuine parent reviews. We build all of it: town and area pages, LocalBusiness schema, and class pages targeting terms like 'ballet classes Harrogate' or 'drama club Leeds'.

Can we sell show and exam tickets through the site?

Absolutely. Annual showcases, exam showcases and productions are big moments for academies — we add event pages and simple ticketing so families can buy seats online, and each show becomes fresh content that helps the site rank.

How do you handle safeguarding and privacy for children?

Carefully. We design around sensible photo permissions, password-protected parent areas where needed, and enquiry forms that collect only what's necessary. No children's personal details are ever published on the public site.

Do you work with academies outside Yorkshire?

Yes. We are based in Knaresborough and have worked with North Yorkshire businesses since 2002, but we build drama and dance school websites for clients across the UK. Everything is handled remotely by phone, email and video call.
