Why is my mobile score lower than desktop?
Google tests mobile on a slower phone and a 4G connection. Most of your local customers search on their phone, so the mobile score matters most.
Is the test free?

Why does the test take up to a minute?
Google actually loads your website on a test phone and a test computer, measuring every image and script. That takes 20–60 seconds.
Does a fast website help me rank?
Speed is one of the signals Google uses, and it strongly affects whether visitors stay. A fast site will not rank on speed alone, but a slow one loses customers before they read a word.
